Barrowden Village Website

February Edition

Fete

Last updated: 1st February 2012

With lots of activities taking place in Rutland over the fete weekend it was fantastic to see so many villagers and visitors on Saturday 25th June when Tom Wade opened the Fete with a warm welcome to all. The fine summer day and the great community spirit ensured that once again St Peter’s Fete was a great success. The energy levels remained high throughout the day and much fun was had by all as we progressed into the evening at the Barrowden Bop with its magical mix of good food, drink and entertainment – Barrowden bopped into the early hours.

As you know great things happen when great people get involved so THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED THE FETE AND THE BOP – setting up, running stalls, clearing up, and in many other ways – it couldn’t have happened without you!

Particular thanks go to my fellow fete committee members: Sally Brown, Liz Carter, Rachel Facer, Katie Kinder, Claire Knowles, Julia Nichols, Andrea Philpott, Verna Post, Marina Walker and Jane Taylor.

I am delighted to report that thanks to your generosity we have over £3,400 available to go to good causes including St Peter’s Church, and many local organisations benefitting adults and children in Barrowden and Wakerley.

The fete committee is keen to welcome new members so please get in touch if you wish to get involved or have any suggestions on how to make next year’s Fete and Bop even better.
