Barrowden Village Website

August Edition

WI

The Barrowden and Wakerley WI meet in the Village Hall on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm.

Wildflower Survey

Way back in 2007 Wakerley and Barrowden WI were asked if they would undertake to survey throughout the year some of the wild flowers growing in our parish – not all species we have were included. The survey was conducted by the Environmental Resources Centre at Holly Hayes, Birstall, Leicester.

A group of us volunteered to help and our parish was sectioned so that we each had only a certain area to search. Several members from North Luffenham also took part and along with our findings there were some interesting results. We have just received the completed maps and thought they might be of interest to you.
