PRESENT

 

Those present: Derek Lanning (Chairman), Kate Humphries, Tim Blake, Jennifer Hughes-Nurse, Grace Wilkinson (Clerk), CCllr Barrie Roper, 5 members of the public. Apologies from John Haddon, Noel Witts, CCllr Chris Emmett.

 

There were no declarations of interest.

The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as a true record.

 

Matters Arising

Augean applied for an extension to their licence; WasteWatchers have asked that anyone with objections should write to their PC and Northants County Council. Kerbing in Main Street will be sorted out. Mill pond – funding in place but still no permission from one of the landowners. Trees – work done. Green man – nearly sufficient funding for work to be completed in May. High speed internet – working with local villages with intention of increasing exchange at Morcott, also asked if can obtain any funding from Leicestershire. Jubilee – a group will organise this and it will be separate from the fete; picnic on Sunday 3rd June, Auction of Promises in Village Hall on 21st April to obtain funds, PC agreed to donate £500, mugs to be given to all children under 16. It was agreed to pay £125 for the removal of the overgrown hedges in Tippings Lane. The bollards in Wakerley Road have been replaced. It is proposed to relocate the Barrowden sign on Live Hill nearer the village to deter visitors from using Back Lane.

 

Correspondence

The Shop has been appointed a Rutland Ambassador; permission requested to put laminated sign near mill pond plinth showing location of shop. PC felt sign too large so will request it be made smaller and less coloured; they will vote when they have seen amendments.

 

Planning

3 Dovecote Close – fell 2 conifers.

Appletree Cottage – no further objections, awaiting decision.

Walnut Cottage – conservatory & extension to outhouse, permission granted.

Steadfold Lane, Ketton – 2 large wind turbines. A separate meeting to discuss this will be arranged. All plans on RCC website, ref ATP/2012/0124/NT.

 

Finance

The accounts stand at: £9,542.63; Rec account – £158.68; tree fund – £510; defibrillator – £1,149.08. At the Parish Forum it was stated that Rutland has the highest council tax in the country, however it will be frozen again this year.

 

Any other Business

It was agreed to donate £50 to the Cricket Club.
